Location: 602A Supported Living Service
Service Type: Forensic and Complex Mental Health Supported Living (Male Adults)
Purpose of the Role
To support the day-to-day running of a forensic and complex mental health supported living service for adult males, ensuring high standards of support, staff practice, safeguarding, and service delivery are maintained.
The Team Leader will provide guidance and support to frontline staff, promote a safe and recovery-focused environment, and work closely with management to ensure the service operates effectively and in line with CQC standards and organisational policies.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide day-to-day support and guidance to staff teams.
• Lead by example and promote professional standards, boundaries, and positive working practices.
• Support individuals with complex mental health needs, forensic histories, challenging behaviours, and substance misuse issues.
• Promote person-centred, recovery-focused, and trauma-informed support.
• Participate in shift cover and support operational needs of the service where required.
• Support staff inductions, mentoring, and development.
• Assist with audits, spot checks, medication checks, and quality monitoring tasks.
• Ensure accurate recording, incident reporting, and professional documentation.
• Report safeguarding concerns, incidents, risks, and staff concerns appropriately.
• Maintain effective communication with professionals, external agencies, and internal teams.
• Promote equality, dignity, inclusion, and respectful support at all times.
Person Specification
Essential
• Experience working within mental health, supported living, forensic, or complex needs services.
• Previous senior support worker or leadership experience.
• Good understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and professional boundaries.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work calmly and professionally within challenging environments.
• Ability to support and motivate staff teams.
Desirable
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
• Experience within forensic mental health services.
• Experience supporting audits, compliance, or staff supervision.
