Our client, a leading proprietary trading firm in the digital asset space, is looking for a Junior Systems Support Engineer. In this role, you will support a multi-region, high-frequency trading environment while collaborating closely with development and infrastructure teams to build and enhance a highly available data extraction platform. You will also play a key role in maintaining and optimising a multi-cloud setup underpinning a mission-critical trading system.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on production experience within a cloud environment, supported by strong fundamentals in infrastructure, Linux, and networking. You will bring a commercial mindset, strong problem-solving ability, and a clear ambition to grow within a highly technical, fast-paced environment at the forefront of trading and technology.
Responsibilities
- Act as the infrastructure SME for a 24/7 globally distributed, multi-region high-frequency web scraping platform
- Drive and own performance optimisation and process improvements across the full platform lifecycle
- Collaborate closely with development teams on architecture, prioritisation, and system design
- Manage and improve multi-cloud infrastructure, including vendor evaluation and best-practice implementation
Requirements
- 2+ years' experience in Infrastructure, DevOps, or Platform Engineering roles
- Proven production experience in global cloud environments (AWS + strong multi-region/networking expertise)
- Strong Linux and networking fundamentals, including performance tuning and optimisation
- Scripting/development experience (e.g. Bash, Python, Java, C#, Rust, or VBA)
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant STEM discipline
- Experience in Data Extraction desirable
