An established and growing organisation operating across multiple laboratory businesses is seeking an experienced LIMS Implementation Project Manager to lead the rollout of a standardised Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

This is a key role responsible for delivering a multi-site systems implementation programme, bringing consistency to laboratory operations, improving data integrity, and enabling scalable growth across the network.

You will work closely with laboratory teams, IT functions, and external delivery partners to ensure a smooth transition to a unified platform, while minimising disruption to day-to-day operations.

The role requires travel across the UK

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of LIMS implementation across multiple laboratory sites
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and delivery roadmaps
  • Oversee key workstreams including system configuration, testing, data migration, and go-live
  • Act as the central point of coordination between operational teams, IT, and third-party vendors
  • Provide clear project updates, reporting, and risk insights to senior stakeholders
  • Support configuration and deployment of the LIMS platform
  • Ensure effective integration with laboratory instruments, workflows, and existing systems
  • Manage testing phases including validation and user acceptance testing

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience delivering LIMS or similar laboratory systems implementations
  • Strong track record managing complex technology projects
  • Experience working across multiple sites or business units
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Desirable

  • Background within laboratory environments (e.g. analytical or testing services)
  • Familiarity with LIMS platforms such as LabWare, STARLIMS, LabVantage, or SampleManager
  • Formal project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent)

Personal Attributes

  • Highly organised with strong project delivery capability
  • Comfortable working across both technical and operational teams
  • Analytical and solution-focused mindset
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Capable of managing complex, multi-site programmes

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to play a central role in a high-impact transformation programme, helping to modernise laboratory operations and drive long-term efficiency across a growing organisation.
