Lawyer (Housing Management)

£56,000 - £60,000

London (Hybrid)

Would you like to join Hyde as a Housing Lawyer?

Join Hyde as a lawyer and become a member of our legal team working at the heart of a purpose-driven organisation, where your legal expertise directly supports the delivery of safe, affordable homes and positive community outcomes. You’ll gain exposure to a diverse mix of housing related legal work in a collaborative environment that values innovation, professional growth, and making a tangible social impact.

About the role

  • Manage a housing management legal caseload across the Hyde Group, delivering high-quality legal advice and litigation support.
  • Advise on matters including anti-social behaviour, tenancy enforcement, possession proceedings, housing succession, leasehold and service charge disputes, and related housing litigation.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, witness statements, notices and injunction applications, and instruct external counsel where appropriate.
  • Provide practical, risk-based advice to colleagues across Housing Management and related teams.
  • Support training and knowledge sharing across the business to strengthen legal understanding and case handling.
  • Contribute to performance reporting, value for money and continuous improvement within the Legal team.

What we’re looking for

  • A qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2 years PQE and a current practising certificate or a Chartered Legal Executive.
  • Strong experience in housing management litigation and advisory work in the social housing sector, ideally gained in-house, or in private practice.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload independently.
  • A practical and commercially aware approach, with confidence advising stakeholders at different levels across the business.
  • Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to deliver high-quality legal support in a fast-paced environment.

Why join Hyde

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing lawyer to broaden existing legal skills and contribute to Hyde’s growth. You will play a key role in shaping decisions that have a lasting impact on communities and customers as part of a supportive, forward-thinking legal team where your expertise is valued, your development is encouraged, and your work delivers real purpose beyond the day-to-day.

As well as a competitive salary, Hyde offers a range of benefits including employer pension contributions of up to 10%, 26 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, life insurance, a health cash plan, discounts, wellbeing support and access to flexible benefits.

Diversity, inclusion and accessibility

Equity, diversity and inclusion are central to life at Hyde. We’re committed to creating a truly inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, valued and able to be themselves. Our aim is to have a workforce that reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve, ensuring that different perspectives are represented in decision-making, service delivery, and the way we shape our organisation.

As a Disability Confident Employer, we’re happy to provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process and in the workplace.

Please note: candidates will be required to complete an online psychometric assessment prior to interview. We reserve the right to close this advert early if a suitable candidate is identified.
