Our client is a privately owned real estate asset management business headquartered in London, managing a diverse and high-quality UK portfolio that spans residential and commercial property. Backed by long-term private capital and a hands-on ownership culture, the business takes an entrepreneurial, value-focused approach to managing and growing its assets.

As the portfolio continues to expand, the business is seeking a talented and experienced Head of Real Estate to take full ownership of asset performance and lead its property strategy across all asset classes.

Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Real Estate will hold overall responsibility for the strategic and operational management of the portfolio. This is a senior, broad-ranging leadership mandate that combines hands-on asset management with portfolio strategy, acquisitions support, and stakeholder management. The successful candidate will be a credible, commercially minded property professional capable of maximising returns while protecting and enhancing long-term asset value.

The Role:-

• Develop and execute the overarching asset management strategy across the residential, commercial and hotel portfolio, aligning each asset's business plan with the owner's wider investment objectives.
• Drive financial and operational performance of the portfolio, with full accountability for income, occupancy, cost management, NOI and overall returns.
• Lead asset business planning, including hold/sell analysis, repositioning, refurbishment and value-add initiatives across all asset classes.
• Oversee the hotel assets, working with operators and/or management contracts to optimise trading performance and asset value.
• Manage residential and commercial leasing strategy, rent reviews, lease renewals, voids and tenant relationships to protect and grow income.
• Support acquisitions and disposals, including underwriting, due diligence, valuation review and integration of new assets into the portfolio.
• Commission and manage external advisers, agents, property managers, valuers and consultants, ensuring high standards and value for money.
• Oversee capital expenditure and development/refurbishment projects, monitoring budgets, programme and delivery.
• Ensure full compliance with RICS standards, landlord and tenant legislation, health & safety, ESG and other regulatory requirements.
• Provide clear reporting and insight to ownership on portfolio performance, risks, opportunities and strategic recommendations.

The Ideal Candidate Profile:-

• MRICS qualified (essential), with a strong post-qualification track record in real estate asset management.
• Demonstrable, hands-on experience across both residential and commercial real estate, with direct exposure to hotel assets a key requirement.
• A proven record of driving asset value and income performance across a mixed-use or multi-sector UK portfolio.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, comfortable with underwriting, valuation, business planning and investment analysis.
• Experience working within or alongside a privately owned / entrepreneurial business, comfortable operating with autonomy and a hands-on approach.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the gravitas to engage credibly with ownership, operators, tenants and external advisers.
• Sound knowledge of relevant UK property legislation, RICS standards and ESG considerations.
• A self-starting, solutions-focused leader with the ambition to shape and grow the real estate function.
