Back End Engineer - #2093011

Robert Half Technology are assisting a global sports manufacturing organisation in recruiting a Back end Engineer on a 6 month contract basis. This is an Inside IR35 opportunity with hybrid working arrangements, requiring 3 days per week onsite in London.

• Design, build, and scale back end services to support internationalisation across a global Sports manafacturing organisations eCommerce platform.
• Develop services enabling multi-language configuration and region-specific behaviour.
• Support currency handling, pricing logic, and transaction flows across multiple markets.
• Integrate new platform capabilities into the existing Live ecosystem.
• Contribute to a shared transaction layer used across multiple products and services.
• Collaborate with front end and mobile engineers to deliver consistent user experiences globally.
• Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability within a live production environment.
• Participate in API and platform design decisions, working within an evolving architecture.

• The Back end Engineer will have 4+ years of back end development experience.
• Strong experience in API and service development.
• Proven experience working on transaction systems, payments, or eCommerce platforms.
• Familiarity with GraphQL is preferred.
• Experience with back end technologies such as Elixir, Go, or similar.
• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to engineering challenges.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams.

The salary range / day rate is dependent upon your experience, qualifications, and training.

Contract Length

Minimum 6 months, with potential for extension subject to project requirements and performance.
