3rd Line Engineer, Azure, AD, On Prem, Cisco, Technical Lead

We're supporting a key organisation in securing an experienced 3rd Line Engineer to act as a technical lead to take ownership of their live technology estate, ensuring stability, resilience, and continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on role, working across architecture, operations, and third-party service delivery to ensure systems are effectively transitioned into BAU and optimised over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical oversight of the live IT estate, ensuring stability, performance, and resilience
• Work closely with architecture teams to transition solutions into operational service
• Provide governance and oversight of managed service providers, ensuring quality delivery
• Review and assess technical changes, focusing on risk, impact, and alignment
• Drive incident analysis and root cause resolution across complex environments
• Maintain and improve technical documentation, standards, and architecture artefacts
• Support platform lifecycle management (upgrades, patching, decommissioning)
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure secure-by-design principles are embedded
• Facilitate technical reviews with stakeholders and contribute to technology roadmap planning

Skills required:

• Strong technical breadth across enterprise systems,Azure, AD, Networking, Infrastrcture, PowerPlatform.
• Proven experience operating in complex enterprise environments
• Background working alongside or supporting enterprise architecture functions
• Solid understanding of IT service management (ITIL or similar)
• Experience managing and governing third-party service providers
• Strong grasp of change control, risk management, and governance frameworks
• Ability to balance operational stability with continuous improvement initiatives
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
