Job Summary
Assist in originating private debt transactions for the Global Private Debt team and responsible for monitoring the performance of the assigned portfolio of global private debt holdings. Develop expertise in specific sectors but work across multiple sectors. Establish and manage relationships with sell-side counterparties to maximize deal flow and allocations. Contribute to the strategic direction of Great-West Lifeco and its regional entities.
What You'll Do
• Evaluate new investment opportunities through fundamental financial analysis, technical and legal due diligence and present investment recommendations to the global heads and regional CIO's
• Coordinate with inside and outside counsel, peers and advisors to identify and resolve legal issues for new transactions and amendments
• Regularly and actively monitor, review and update analysis all holdings within assigned area of responsibilities in a timely manner to determine suitability of existing and / or targeted investment position and credit rating.
• Communicate regularly with sell-side agents, bankers and issuers to develop strategic relationships.
• Complete necessary documentation, including trade tickets and coordinate with the settlement teams for successful closing and funding of transactions.
• Participate and contribute in process improvement processes and adopt new technologies to improve efficiencies
• Pro-actively contribute in a collaborative and constructive manner to team and departmental discussions on credit positions, transactions and strategy including, but not limited to, credit reviews, asset allocation, economic outlook and market forecasting.
Who You Are
• Expertise in financial modelling, fundamental investment and legal analysis
• Experience in credit research and analysis with strong analytical skills and a proven ability to independently and pro-actively gather information and use it to draw sound conclusions and views
• Knowledge and experience across a wide range of investment sectors as well as economics and financial markets
• Strong organizational and excellent time management skills with ability to change priorities and meet short deadlines
• Sufficient experience, knowledge and skills wo work independently with moderate oversight
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including presentation skills and ability to present strong arguments
