Head housekeeper / House Manager in Warren Street - #2099863
Leaman Consulting
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head Housekeeper / House Manager to join a fully staffed private household in Central London. This is a hands-on position combining traditional housekeeping responsibilities with household management duties, requiring someone who takes genuine ownership of the property and enjoys ensuring everything runs seamlessly.
The residence is a beautifully designed, three-storey penthouse with a contemporary Japandi aesthetic, featuring extensive glass and bespoke finishes. Whilst the property is not large by UHNW standards, it demands meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organisation and proactive management.
Working closely with the Principals, Chief of Staff and wider household team, you will act as the central point of contact for all matters relating to the smooth operation of the home.
Key Responsibilities
- Household Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for the family and household staff regarding all property-related matters.
- Take ownership of the day-to-day running of the residence, ensuring exceptionally high standards are consistently maintained.
- Supervise and support the daily Housekeeper, providing direction and ensuring workloads are organised efficiently.
- Coordinate and oversee contractors, suppliers and maintenance appointments, providing updates to the Principals and Chief of Staff.
- Carry out routine inspections of household systems, appliances and fixtures, troubleshooting issues where possible and arranging repairs when required.
- Maintain strong relationships with the building concierge and act as the main point of contact for the apartment.
- Take responsibility for household security, including alarm systems and access arrangements.
- Coordinate deliveries, collect parcels, organise unpacking and ensure all items are distributed appropriately.
- Liaise with the private chef and household team regarding food deliveries, household supplies and stock management.
- Organise logistics relating to household storage, seasonal rotations and inventory management.
- Develop and maintain household manuals, operational procedures and systems with administrative support from the Family Office.
- Maintain accurate household expenditure records for the Finance Manager.
- Prepare comprehensive handover notes for the weekend Housekeeper each Friday.
- Housekeeping
- Carry out hands-on housekeeping duties to the highest standard, including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming and mopping where required.
- Share responsibility for all laundry, including washing, hand washing, ironing and managing dry cleaning.
- Oversee the care and maintenance of the property's spa facilities, including the sauna and plunge pool.
- Coordinate and implement deep cleaning schedules during periods when the family are away.
- Ensure all areas of the home remain beautifully presented, organised and guest-ready at all times.
- Oversee guest room preparation and service when visitors are staying.
About You
You will be an experienced private household professional who enjoys taking ownership and solving problems independently. This role would suit someone who is highly organised, discreet and practical, with excellent judgement and a calm, solutions-focused approach.
