Live-out Housekeeper in Marylebone - #2101214

A lovely private family is seeking an experienced, discreet and highly organised Housekeeper to join their household team, supporting their elegant residence in Marylebone, together with occasional assistance across their other London properties and international travel throughout the year.
The principals are primarily based in Athens and use their beautifully presented three-bedroom Marylebone apartment as their London home for approximately three to four months each year. Although modest in size, the residence becomes a busy family home when occupied, with the household also employing nannies and a second Housekeeper. The successful candidate will therefore be confident working around children and family life, with the emotional intelligence to know when to be present and when to work discreetly in the background.
This role follows a seasonal rhythm. During quieter periods, when the family are abroad, responsibilities focus on maintaining the property to impeccable standards, preparing the residence for future visits and providing support at the family's other London homes. When the family are in residence, the role becomes significantly more hands-on, requiring flexibility and a proactive approach to ensure the household runs seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

  Full housekeeping and cleaning to exceptionally high standards

  Laundry, ironing and wardrobe management, including care of luxury garments
• 
  Working collaboratively with a second Housekeeper to maintain the residence

  Taking responsibility for the overall presentation, organisation and upkeep of the property
• 
  Monitoring the home and reporting any maintenance issues or household requirements

  Preparing the residence ahead of the family's arrival

  Providing housekeeping support at other London properties as required
• 
  Travelling with the family and taking responsibility for housekeeping within holiday residences

  Maintaining a calm, organised and welcoming home environment

  Working flexibly to accommodate the family's schedule and lifestyle

Working Schedule
The role operates on a seasonal basis depending on the family's occupancy.
When the family are not in London:

• 
  Monday to Friday
• 
  Approximately 30 hours per week
• 
  Focus on maintaining the residence and supporting other family properties

When the family are in residence (approximately 3-4 months per year):

• 
  Typically 6 days per week
• 
  Up to 10 hours per day, with flexibility according to the family's requirements

The salary is based on an average working week of 40 hours across the year. Additional hours worked during busier periods will be returned as time off in lieu during quieter periods.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within HNW or UHNW private households and take genuine pride in delivering exceptional housekeeping standards. They will be proactive, organised and capable of managing their workload independently, while also working effectively as part of a wider household team.
You will be naturally discreet, trustworthy and emotionally intelligent, with the ability to anticipate the family's needs and adapt your approach accordingly. Whilst no childcare duties are involved, you must be child-friendly and comfortable working in an active family home.
Flexibility is essential, as is a willingness to travel both within Europe and internationally when required.
