SRM Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a leading late stage biotech organisation who are looking to scale and strengthen the Finance function with the addition of a Finance Manager to join them on an initial 6 month contract basis.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will oversee the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust financial controls and effective financial planning.
This is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to support business growth, systems transformation and the continued development of a scalable finance function.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including management accounts, variance analysis, group reporting and month-end close.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and commercial financial analysis to aid business decision-making.
- Oversee statutory reporting, tax compliance, VAT returns, payment approvals and audit readiness, ensuring strong governance and financial controls.
- Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and reporting, supporting ERP optimisation and partnering with operational teams to enhance efficiency.
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
- Experience working within a multi-entity, multi-currency environment using ERP systems (NetSuite experience advantageous).
- Strong analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to improve processes and manage competing priorities.
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced, evolving organisation, taking a hands-on approach while supporting strategic business objectives.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is essential.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline is desirable.
- Experience within a growing SME or scale up environment.
- Exposure to finance transformation projects, ERP implementations and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience within life sciences, pharmaceuticals or another regulated industry would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Salary of £60,000 - £80,000 DOE + Benefits
- Predominantly remote working with occasional travel to meetings across the South.
