Operations Analyst - Hedge Fund - Python & SQL - Selby Jennings - #2104409

A highly regarded alternative investment manager is seeking an Operations Associate to join its London-based team. This is a broad, hands-on role offering exposure across trade support, reconciliations, portfolio oversight, and interaction with investment professionals.

• Oversee the daily trade life cycle, ensuring timely trade matching and settlement across counterparts.
• Investigate and resolve trade, cash, and position discrepancies.
• Perform daily P&L, cash, and portfolio reconciliations.
• Strong communication skills to be a point of contact for brokers, custodians etc.
• Support portfolio managers and traders with operational queries and issue resolution.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives, automation projects, and operational controls.
• Provide flexibility across the wider operations team as required.

• Graduate with keen interest working in a Hedge Fund or 1-5 years' experience within Operations, Middle Office, Trade Support or a similar function.
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and asset classes, including equities, derivatives, FX, fixed income, and other listed products.
• Exposure to reconciliations, cash management, settlements, and portfolio servicing activities.
• Demonstrable interest in process automation and operational efficiency.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or similar.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with front-office stakeholders.

Salary for a Graduate £30,000 - £45,000

Salary for an Experienced Hire - £45,000 - £65,000

Strong discretionary bonus potential subject to company and individual performance
