An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Casualty Claims Adjuster to join a well-established insurance business with a strong presence in the London Market.

This role would suit someone with experience handling casualty claims who is looking to build their technical expertise across a varied portfolio. The book is predominantly focused on UK and Ireland general liability and public liability claims, with some exposure to global and US losses. Claims may arise across a range of commercial sectors, including retail, manufacturing and leisure-related risks.

Working as part of an experienced claims team, you will be involved in managing claims from initial notification through to resolution. This will include reviewing coverage, assessing liability and quantum, setting reserves, managing strategy and working closely with brokers, policyholders, lawyers, adjusters, TPAs and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing a portfolio of casualty claims from first notification through to settlement.
  • Reviewing policy coverage, liability and quantum to support fair and timely claim outcomes.
  • Setting and monitoring reserves in line with internal guidelines.
  • Liaising with brokers, insureds, co-insurers, lawyers, loss adjusters and third-party administrators.
  • Providing clear instructions to external service providers and monitoring claim progress.
  • Maintaining accurate claim files, records and system notes.
  • Supporting reporting, audit and portfolio review activity where required.
  • Working closely with underwriting and wider business teams to share claims insight and market feedback.
  • Ensuring claims are handled in line with regulatory expectations and internal standards.
Requirements:
  • Experience handling casualty claims within the London Market or wider commercial insurance market.
  • Exposure to general liability and/or public liability claims.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with brokers, clients and internal teams.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to assess coverage, liability and quantum.
  • A practical and organised approach to claims handling.
  • Confidence working with external experts, including lawyers, adjusters and TPAs.
  • A willingness to continue developing technical knowledge across casualty lines.
This is a strong opportunity for a casualty claims professional who wants to develop within a collaborative, technical and market-facing environment, while gaining exposure to a varied and interesting claims portfolio.
