A fast-growing technology platform is looking to add an Assistant Financial Accountant to its expanding finance team.

Following a period of exceptional growth, the business is investing in its finance function to support increasing transaction volumes, strengthen reporting processes and prepare for the next stage of its journey. This newly created position offers an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to gain exposure within a modern, fast-paced technology business.

Initially offered as a 6-month contract, there is a strong likelihood the role will be extended as the business continues to grow.

Working closely with the Financial Accountant and Financial Controller, you'll play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the finance function. This is a hands-on position with plenty of opportunity to develop your technical accounting skills while supporting a busy and collaborative team.

• Process journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Support month-end close activities.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing where required.
• Maintain the fixed asset register.
• Prepare VAT workings and assist with other regulatory returns.
• Help produce schedules for external auditors.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity across finance systems.
• Support process improvements as the finance team continues to scale.

You'll be someone who enjoys working with numbers, takes pride in producing accurate work and is keen to continue developing your accounting career.

We're looking for someone with:

• Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or AAT (or actively studying towards a professional qualification).
• Experience in an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or similar role.
• Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and month-end processes.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.

Experience within a technology, software or high-growth business would be advantageous, but is by no means essential.
