Are you an experienced maritime professional with seagoing experience looking to use your operational knowledge in a role where you can make a lasting impact on the industry?

We’re recruiting for an experienced maritime professional to join a well-respected international organisation, delivering high-quality professional development programmes that support safer shipping and raise standards across the sector.

This is a varied position that combines hands-on training delivery with course development, programme coordination and technical leadership. You’ll work with experienced maritime professionals, helping shape learning programmes that are relevant, practical and aligned with current industry challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging maritime training across classroom, virtual and blended environments.
  • Lead courses covering subjects such as ISM, DPA, Incident Investigation, Navigation Assessor and other maritime operational topics.
  • Develop and continually improve course content to ensure it reflects current legislation, industry best practice and operational experience.
  • Coordinate the planning and delivery of training programmes, including scheduling, resources and learner communications.
  • Supervise and support a small team of instructors and colleagues.
  • Monitor learner engagement, feedback and programme performance to drive continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with learners, industry stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the Academy’s learning portfolio.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Seagoing experience, providing the operational credibility to deliver practical, industry-relevant training.
  • Experience delivering training, mentoring or professional development programmes, or a strong desire to move into a training-focused role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of maritime operations and safety management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience developing or improving technical content would be advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems (such as Moodle) would be beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as required.

If you’re looking to combine your seagoing experience with training, coaching and course development in a role where you’ll make a genuine impact on the maritime industry, we’d love to hear from you.

Full right to work in the UK is essential for this role.
