Our client is a highly regarded boutique asset management firm with a long-term, research-driven investment philosophy. They are looking to hire a Credit Research Analyst to join their established Fixed Income team, supporting investment decisions across global corporate bond markets.
Working alongside experienced Portfolio Managers, you will be responsible for researching corporate bond issuers across developed markets, with a primary focus on Europe, UK and North America. This is an excellent opportunity for an intellectually curious analyst with strong fundamental credit skills to contribute directly to investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out in-depth fundamental analysis of corporate bond issuers, assessing business quality, financial strength and credit risk
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate leverage, liquidity, cash flow generation and downside scenarios
- Produce clear, evidence-based investment recommendations for Portfolio Managers
- Monitor portfolio holdings and keep abreast of earnings announcements, market developments, rating agency activity and issuer-specific news
- Assess relative value opportunities across the corporate credit universe
- Review debt structures, bond documentation and covenant packages where appropriate
- Meet with company management teams, brokers, research analysts and other market participants to enhance investment insight
- Analyse sector trends, competitive dynamics and macroeconomic factors that may influence credit performance
- Incorporate ESG considerations into fundamental credit analysis as part of the investment process
- Contribute, where appropriate, to broader macro and sovereign market analysis to support fixed income investment views
Candidate Requirements:
- Relevant fundamental credit research experience, ideally within an asset manager or other institutional investment environment
- A solid understanding of global investment grade credit markets with exposure to high yield viewed favourably
- Strong financial modelling skills
- Confidence to develop independent investment views supported by robust research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly to investment professionals
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong relationships across teams and with external market participants
- An excellent academic record, with CFA qualification (or progress towards it) considered advantageous
