The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping legal know-how, thought leadership, training and innovation across a market-leading Disputes & Investigations practice.

Description

The Opportunity

Based in London, this role sits within the firm's Disputes Knowledge team and reports to the Head of Disputes Knowledge. Working closely with partners, associates and business services teams, the Knowledge Lawyer will support the firm's market-leading disputes and investigations practice through the development of know-how, training, thought leadership and legal technology initiatives.

The role is ideally suited to an experienced disputes solicitor with a strong background in complex commercial litigation. Experience in contentious data protection matters, regulatory investigations and broader disputes work, including competition litigation and class actions, would be advantageous.


Key ResponsibilitiesKnowledge & Thought Leadership
  • Monitor legal, regulatory and market developments affecting disputes and investigations.
  • Produce insightful client briefings, articles, blogs and thought leadership pieces.
  • Develop and maintain practice notes, precedents, toolkits, checklists and guidance materials.
  • Support horizon scanning and identify emerging issues relevant to clients and the practice.
Training & Development
  • Design and deliver technical legal training programmes.
  • Support partners and fee earners in preparing and delivering client-facing training.
  • Work with Learning & Development teams to enhance internal legal education programmes.
Practice Support
  • Act as a trusted technical resource for lawyers across the disputes practice.
  • Provide guidance on litigation strategy, civil procedure and market developments.
  • Support matters involving commercial litigation, investigations, competition disputes, class actions and technology-related disputes.
Innovation & Legal Technology
  • Collaborate with Knowledge, Innovation and Technology teams to embed legal technology and AI tools.
  • Champion best practice and responsible adoption of technology within the disputes group.
  • Identify opportunities to improve knowledge management, efficiency and client service through innovation.
External Engagement
  • Contribute to legal consultations, industry responses and professional working groups.
  • Support business development initiatives, directory submissions and client pitches.
  • Build relationships with relevant legal, regulatory and industry bodies.

Profile

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a solicitor with significant disputes and investigations experience.
  • Strong expertise in complex commercial litigation and civil procedure.
  • Experience of contentious data protection, privacy disputes and related regulatory investigations.
  • Excellent technical drafting and communication skills.
  • The ability to develop and deliver engaging training programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Interest in legal technology, AI and knowledge management.
  • A proactive, commercially minded and collaborative approach.
