Chief Financial Officer - #2110981

Harper May is working with an established, privately owned business that has built a strong position in its market over several decades and is now investing in the leadership of its finance function. As the business continues to grow, it is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to bring commercial discipline, strengthen its financial foundations and help drive the next stage of its development. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, commercially focused finance leader to make a genuine and lasting impact in a well-established and ambitious business.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be a key part of the senior leadership team, trusted to shape both the numbers and the direction of the business.

The Role

• Lead the financial strategy and planning of the business
• Own budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
• Strengthen financial controls, processes and governance
• Manage cash flow, working capital and capital allocation
• Partner with the leadership team on commercial and strategic decisions
• Lead and develop the finance team
• Oversee statutory reporting, audit and compliance
• Provide clear financial insight to support growth and profitability

What does the right candidate look like?

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Significant senior finance leadership experience, ideally as a CFO or Finance Director
• Experience within a privately owned or owner-managed business
• Strong commercial acumen and a hands-on approach
• A track record of strengthening finance functions and controls
• A confident communicator able to influence at leadership level
