A Private Client Tax Manager opportunity in London offering high-quality private client work, hybrid working and genuine long-term career progression within a modern and growing accountancy firm.

This role would suit a CTA qualified tax professional who is currently operating at Assistant Manager level and looking to step up, or an established Private Client Tax Manager seeking a fresh challenge within a progressive and highly regarded firm.

Based in London with excellent access to public transport links, the role offers hybrid and flexible working, a supportive team culture and the opportunity to work with an impressive private client portfolio.

The successful individual will advise a varied client base including Trusts and Estates, High Net Worth Individuals, entrepreneurs, business owners and their associated companies, as well as a broad range of owner-managed businesses.

The Opportunity

Working closely with experienced Partners and senior colleagues, you will manage your own portfolio of private clients and become actively involved in a range of advisory projects.

This is a role with strong client contact, technical variety and scope for continued development. You will have the opportunity to build long-term client relationships, support junior team members and play an important part in the continued growth of the Private Client team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied portfolio of private clients and acting as a primary point of contact
  • Preparing and reviewing complex Self Assessment tax returns
  • Advising clients on personal tax matters including Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax and residence issues
  • Undertaking tax planning and advisory assignments, both independently and alongside colleagues
  • Liaising with HMRC regarding a wide range of private client tax matters
  • Ensuring tax payments, filings and compliance obligations are completed within statutory deadlines
  • Carrying out technical research to support complex tax matters
  • Providing guidance and support to junior team members
  • Assisting with the technical and professional development of junior colleagues
  • Working closely with colleagues across the wider firm and identifying opportunities to introduce clients to other specialist services

About You

You will be CTA qualified and currently working within Private Client Tax, Personal Tax or a Mixed Tax environment.

You may already be working as a Private Client Tax Manager, Personal Tax Manager, Tax Assistant Manager, Mixed Tax Manager or Private Client Assistant Manager, and you will be looking for a role which offers quality clients, flexibility and long-term career progression.

You will bring:

  • Strong technical knowledge across personal tax
  • Experience managing or supporting a private client tax portfolio
  • Experience preparing and reviewing complex Self Assessment tax returns
  • Knowledge of Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax
  • Exposure to Trusts and Estates, HNWIs, entrepreneurs or business owners
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining a high level of client service
  • A proactive and collaborative approach
  • A genuine interest in developing within a modern and progressive professional services environment

Location

The role is based in London and offers hybrid and flexible working.

The office has excellent public transport links and may suit candidates based in London, South West London, West London, Central London, Surrey, Middlesex, Kent, Hertfordshire or the surrounding areas.
