BUILDING SAFETY COORDINATOR - 12 Month FTC

  • Rendall & Rittner • Competitive • Home Based

ROLE OVERVIEW

You will join Rendall & Rittner on a 12 month fixed-term contract to strengthen our building safety capability across a varied residential portfolio. As a trusted coordinator, you will bring structure, pace and clarity to how we plan, evidence and continually improve compliance with evolving building safety legislation.

Working closely with Property Managers, Technical, Legal and Resident Services teams, you will help translate regulation into pragmatic, resident-focused actions. You will be central to the “golden thread” of information, ensuring our records are accurate, auditable and readily accessible, while supporting clear resident communication and engagement.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

Most days you will organise, chase and quality-check building safety information, keeping actions on track and stakeholders aligned. You will review evidence packs, maintain registers and dashboards, and coordinate surveys, inspections and remedial works with clear updates to internal teams and residents. You will spot risks early, escalate thoughtfully and keep momentum until issues are closed.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Accurate, current building safety records and evidence packs that stand up to internal and external scrutiny.
  • Clear action plans with owners, deadlines and progress updates, resulting in timely risk mitigation and issue closure.
  • Confident, empathetic communications that inform residents and reduce complaints or repeat queries.
  • Strong collaboration with Property Managers and contractors, balancing compliance urgency with operational realities.
  • Early identification of gaps or emerging risks, with practical recommendations that are adopted.
  • Consistent delivery against milestones across your caseload, with measurable improvements in compliance KPIs.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND MOST OF YOUR TIME

  • Coordinating and tracking safety actions, surveys, inspections and remedial works across assigned buildings.
  • Curating and maintaining the golden thread: plans, drawings, risk assessments, fire door and façade records, and compliance evidence.
  • Preparing concise status reports, dashboards and board-ready updates that highlight progress, risks and decisions needed.
  • Liaising with residents to share updates, organise access and handle queries with clarity and care.
  • Reviewing contractor reports for completeness and quality, and chasing clarifications or missing documentation.
  • Supporting incident readiness by ensuring documentation, contact trees and escalation routes are up to date.

WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR

  • You are organised, detail-focused and relentless about closing actions and maintaining accurate records.
  • You communicate complex information simply, adapting your style for residents, contractors and internal teams.
  • You are calm under pressure, prioritising effectively and escalating at the right time with solutions in mind.
  • You take ownership, follow through and hold others accountable with professionalism and empathy.
  • You are motivated by resident safety and doing the right thing, even when it’s challenging.

EXPERIENCE THAT HELPS

  • Working knowledge of the Building Safety Act, fire safety principles and the golden thread of information.
  • Experience coordinating compliance activity within residential property, facilities, construction or risk management.
  • Familiarity with safety case reports, risk assessments, contractor management and remedial work tracking.
  • Confidence using data and systems to maintain registers, produce dashboards and evidence audit trails.
  • Exposure to resident or customer communications, especially around sensitive or technical topics.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive salary, aligned to experience
  • Discretionary bonus
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Private medical insurance, life assurance and enhanced family leave
  • Fully funded training and professional development
  • Paid sabbaticals as a loyalty reward
  • Pension scheme and employee assistance programme
  • Discounts across travel, retail, fitness and entertainment
