Job summary

  1. To support the Head of ORI with long term planning and developing the ORI strategy
  2. To provide support and guidance to the LoB ORI teams
  3. Facilitate continuous improvement across the ORI team for purchasing practices and processes
  4. Responsibility for the placement of certain outwards reinsurance programmes, as agreed with the Head of ORI

Main duties

  1. Consult to Head of Outwards Reinsurance on long term plan and supporting strategic direction
  2. Reviewing ORI programme efficacy and looking at alternate options
  3. Exploring alternate products / solutions
  4. Support the LoB teams on structuring and coverage of programmes (broadening their knowledge and supporting development)
  5. Develop and share best practice across the LoB ORI teams
  6. Review / enhance purchasing processes and practices
  7. Assist the Head of Outwards Reinsurance / LoB Heads with the RFP process

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Experience

  1. Reinsurance purchasing experience (preferably including Casualty)
  2. Good Reinsurer and broker relationships
  3. Good technical understanding of Reinsurance
  4. Good understanding of best practice

Skills & Knowledge

  1. Strong commercial and technical skills
  2. Proactive problem solving, effective collaboration and escalation
  3. Ability to analyse and understand RI Pricing / Rating
  4. Good understanding of inwards (ideally Casualty) business / coverages
  5. Continuous improvement mindset
  6. Awareness of risks and controls

Qualifications

  1. ACII qualified (or equivalent)
