About the role

This Compliance Manager opportunity is a newly created position that will play a pivotal role in helping the Charity maintain the highest standards of compliance. Reporting to the Associate Director of Corporate Services & Grants, you will work closely with the SLT and across the organisation, and you will lead the development and delivery of the Charity's compliance framework. This is a hybrid position with offices in Central London.

A large part of this role will be promoting a strong culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement to make sure that the Charity can confidently pursue its ambitious fundraising objectives.


Key responsibilities in the role

Organisational Compliance:

  • Lead on the development, implementation and management of a compliance framework.
  • Lead coordination of regulatory reporting and compliance activities to ensure adherence to Charity Commission requirements and other applicable legislation.

Contractual Risk Management:

  • Overall oversight and management of the contract review process.
  • Ensuring a consistent approach to contract review and administration, providing support and advice as needed.

Fundraising Compliance:

  • Being the day-to-day contact for fundraising compliance queries including delivering briefings to teams and providing guidance and advice.
  • Overseeing compliance monitoring and audit activity relating to third-party fundraising partnerships, ensuring appropriate records, oversight and regulatory compliance are maintained.


A bit about yourself

  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent
  • Relevant qualification in Legal, Compliance, Data Protection, or Governance would be ideal
  • Proven experience in legal or compliance or governance within a non-profit environment
  • Experience of interpreting and applying regulatory frameworks (e.g. Charity Commission Requirements and GDPR)
  • Experience of contract review, supplier governance or working with legal advisers
  • Understanding of data protection legislation (UK GDPR) and its practical application
  • You will have strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with senior stakeholders
