Financial Accounting Manager

Our client is one of the world's most recognisable consumer technology platforms, in the Fintech arena, with a rapidly scaling global payments business at the heart of its growth strategy. As part of a significant investment in its EMEA Accounting and Reporting function, they are now looking for a Financial Accounting Manager to take ownership of the accounting and reporting workstream for their Global Payments entities.

This is a rare opportunity to join a business operating at genuine global scale, in a role that sits right at the intersection of finance, regulation and one of the fastest-growing payments ecosystems in the world.

The Role

You'll own GL accounting and month-end/quarter-end close for the Global Payments entities across EMEA, including those currently progressing through financial authorities' licensing (e-money, payment institution or equivalent regulated permissions). You'll be instrumental in getting the books and records of these entities audit- and regulator-ready, working closely with Business, Treasury, Tax, Legal and Compliance teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading GL accounting and close for Global Payments entities and those pursuing regulatory licences across EMEA
• Managing the finance readiness workstream for newly licensed entities - chart of accounts, opening balances, accounting policy alignment and internal controls
• Preparing and reviewing IFRS-to-local GAAP reconciliations and reporting packages for Group Finance
• Supporting statutory financial statements and managing the external audit relationship
• Partnering with Compliance and Regulatory Reporting teams on submissions to regulators such as the FCA, BaFin, CBI and DFSA
• Getting close to the commercial and operational realities of a business whose payment flows and stakeholder base span Europe, the Middle East and, significantly, China

About You

• ACA/ACCA qualified, ideally trained with a top 10 accountancy firm
• Background from a global payments, fintech or other regulated financial services business
• Experience supporting entities through a regulatory licensing process (EMI, PI or equivalent) is highly desirable
• Confident operating across cultures and time zones
• A proactive, hands-on operator who is comfortable building process and control frameworks from scratch, not just running existing ones
