Senior Pricing Actuary

Location: London (preferred) | Open to candidates across the EU
Salary: £100,000 - £130,000 + Bonus & Benefits
Working Arrangement: Fully Remote / Flexible

Selby Jennings is partnered with a highly innovative and rapidly growing insurance business seeking an experienced Senior Pricing Actuary to join its European actuarial team. This is a unique opportunity to work within a data-driven environment, partnering closely with underwriting, claims, distribution, and technology teams to drive profitable growth across a diverse portfolio of specialty and commercial insurance products.

This position offers significant exposure to strategic pricing decisions, portfolio performance management, and the evaluation of new business opportunities across multiple markets.



The Role

As a Senior Pricing Actuary, you will play a key role in supporting profitability and growth initiatives by delivering pricing insights, actuarial analysis, and portfolio recommendations. You will collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders and help shape the future direction of the actuarial function within a modern and technology-focused organisation.



Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and price new insurance opportunities across commercial and specialty lines.
  • Provide actuarial support and strategic pricing insight across an existing portfolio of business.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and recommend pricing and rate adequacy actions.
  • Develop and refine pricing methodologies, rating structures, and profitability models.
  • Work closely with underwriting, claims, analytics, and leadership teams to support business objectives.
  • Analyse market trends, emerging risks, and regulatory developments to inform decision-making.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of actuarial and pricing capabilities through innovation and process improvement.


Requirements

  • Qualified Actuary (IFoA, FIA, FFA or equivalent).
  • Minimum 7 years' actuarial experience within general insurance.
  • Strong pricing background, ideally within commercial, specialty, or Lloyd's/London Market business.
  • Experience working across a range of non-life insurance products.
  • Strong modelling and analytical capabilities using tools such as Python, R, SQL and Excel.
  • Ability to communicate complex actuarial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Fluent English communication skills; additional European languages are advantageous.
