Quantitative Developer (Python)

London | Hedge Fund | Python | Research & Trading Technology

Building great trading strategies requires great engineering.

We're looking for an experienced Python Developer to work alongside Quantitative Researchers, designing and building the software that underpins research, analytics and live trading. You'll join a highly technical environment where engineering quality, performance and collaboration are valued just as highly as innovation.

This isn't a traditional application development role. You'll help create the tools, workflows and platforms that enable researchers to move quickly from ideas to production, taking ownership throughout the full software lifecycle.

What you'll be doing

  • Partnering with Quantitative Researchers to build software supporting research and trading
  • Developing scalable Python applications and workflows
  • Designing high-performance solutions for processing and analysing large datasets
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to build reusable software components
  • Taking ownership from design through to deployment and ongoing improvement
  • Supporting business-critical systems within a modern engineering environment

We're looking for

  • Strong commercial Python development experience (4+ years)
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance or a similar technical discipline
  • Experience designing robust, scalable software
  • Understanding of data processing, storage and analysis
  • Experience with modern software engineering practices including Git and Agile
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with highly technical stakeholders

Desirable experience

  • C++ or KDB+/q
  • Quantitative or financial engineering experience
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Logging and monitoring platforms
  • Database technologies
  • Software architecture and solution design

Why apply?

You'll work alongside some of the brightest engineers and quantitative researchers in the industry, solving complex technical problems that directly influence research and trading. This is an environment where ownership is encouraged, engineering standards are exceptionally high and your work will have a genuine impact from day one.

If you enjoy solving difficult technical challenges with Python and want to work in a collaborative, high-performance engineering team, we'd love to hear from you.
