GPN Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established 5+ Partner Central London accountancy firm who are seeking an Audit & Accounts Senior to join their growing team.
This is a varied general-practice position offering exposure across audit, statutory accounts, corporation tax, bookkeeping and VAT. The firm is looking for a well-rounded and reasonably self-sufficient accountant who enjoys managing assignments from start to finish and maintaining direct relationships with clients.
The position would suit a newly qualified ACA/ACCA accountant or a strong finalist seeking broader experience and genuine long-term progression. Candidates currently working within a small or mid-sized accountancy practice are likely to be particularly well suited. This role also boasts hybrid working opportunities (with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home).

Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing statutory accounts for owner-managed businesses and limited companies
- Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion
- Preparing associated corporation tax returns
- Undertaking bookkeeping and VAT work where required
- Preparing journals and maintaining accurate accounting records
- Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries
- Supporting clients with a broad range of accounting and compliance requirements
- Potential exposure to personal tax
- Assisting and supporting more junior members of the team
- Working closely with the firm’s Partners and Managers
Client Portfolio:
The firm supports a varied portfolio including:
- Owner-managed businesses
- Small and medium-sized companies
- High-net-worth individuals
- Investment and consultancy companies
- FCA-regulated businesses
- Audit clients with turnovers reaching approximately £20 million and above
Qualifications & Skills:
- ACA/ACCA qualified, newly qualified or a strong finalist
- Recent experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Strong statutory accounts preparation experience
- Audit experience
- Corporation tax experience
- Sound bookkeeping, double-entry and journal-posting knowledge
- Good understanding of Companies House requirements
- Personal tax and VAT exposure would be advantageous
- Comfortable completing hands-on preparation work
- Able to manage assignments with limited supervision
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Ambitious and interested in developing within a general-practice environment
