Collateral Management Associate

Rate: £350 per day PAYE

Duration: 12-Month Contract

Location: London (Hybrid - 3 days per week on-site)

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Collateral Management Associate to join a leading Tier One Investment Bank within its Global Markets Operations function.

The Collateral Services team operates within a global model and is responsible for all aspects of collateral management, including direct client interaction relating to the issuance, receipt and settlement of margin activity across OTC Derivatives, Repo and Prime Brokerage products. Working within a senior London-based team and partnering with global service centres, you will play a key role in mitigating operational, market and counterparty risk while delivering a first-class client experience.

This is a fast-paced, client-facing environment requiring strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail and excellent stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Accountable for the support of Equity Prime clients, FX Prime clients, OTC and REPO clients
  2. Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of margin calls, interaction with internal stakeholders, ensuring credit and market risk is effectively mitigated, whilst providing a maximum level of client service.
  3. Escalate all disputes & default situations through the appropriate reporting lines
  4. Develop key relationships with other support functions as well as Front Office teams across HSBC.
  5. Expedite resolution of all disputes with counterparts, investigating haircuts and MTM differences in an efficient manner.
  6. Produce monthly MI using internal systems and basic excel.
  7. Review client queries and respond in a timely manner.
  8. Ensure procedures are maintained and appropriate controls are followed to eliminate operational and counterparty credit risk
  9. Attending client reviews and meetings as required

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Investment Banking / Financial Services environment with 3-4 years of experience in Collateral Management
  2. Excellent knowledge of OTC derivative products, Equities, FX and Bonds.
  3. Excellent client service skills
  4. Good understanding of ISDA CSA and other margin related documentation
  5. Working knowledge / experience in a PB environment.
  6. Good knowledge of Excel
  7. Excellent problem solving skills
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to manage multiple tasks in a high pressure environment
  9. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
