Brandon James Ltd

A leading independent construction and property consultancy in London is looking to appoint an experienced Associate Monitoring Surveyor to join their specialist monitoring team. This is an excellent opportunity for an established Associate Monitoring Surveyor to work on a varied portfolio of lender, investor and development monitoring instructions across London and the wider UK.

The successful Associate Monitoring Surveyor will lead commissions across Build to Rent developments, single-family housing schemes, landlord monitoring appointments and institutional banking instructions. The role will also include wider due diligence and monitoring surveying work, providing independent advice to lenders, investors and key development stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of each scheme.

Operating within a focused specialist team, the Associate Monitoring Surveyor will be trusted to manage projects autonomously, maintain high-quality client relationships and provide clear, commercially informed advice. This position would suit an Associate Monitoring Surveyor who enjoys responsibility, direct client engagement and the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of a respected consultancy practice.

Associate Monitoring Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading lender, fund and development monitoring commissions from inception through to completion

  • Reviewing development appraisals, construction programmes, procurement strategies and project costs

  • Undertaking site inspections and preparing detailed monitoring reports for banks, investors and other funders

  • Advising clients on project risk, progress, drawdowns and emerging development issues

  • Managing landlord monitoring and due diligence instructions

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with institutional clients and development stakeholders

  • Supporting business development and identifying opportunities for further monitoring work

Associate Monitoring Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline

  • Proven UK monitoring surveying, fund monitoring or development monitoring experience

  • Strong understanding of construction, procurement and development processes

  • Experience advising lenders, investors, developers and other funding stakeholders

  • MRICS preferred, or working at an equivalent professional level

  • Confident managing commissions independently and representing clients at senior level

  • Commercially aware with an interest in client development and generating new business

In Return:

  • £75,000 - £85,000 per annum

  • Senior position within a specialist London monitoring team

  • Exposure to major residential and institutional development projects

  • Strong client-facing responsibility

  • Excellent long-term progression opportunities
