Python Developer - Risk Systems - Hedge Fund Exchange Traded Commodities - CassonX - #2118043

CassonX are delighted to be EXCLUSIVELY recruiting for this growing Relative Value Hedge Fund that specialises in Exchange Traded Commodities. Now boasting nearly $900m AUM, and a wonderful track record, they are looking to replace someone who (like many) have been promoted to the Trading desk. We are very excited about this hire, such a great opportunity for someone, especially if your first time in a hedge fund. The hiring manger is great fun, but also someone who you could trust your career with and willing to put you under his wing in this small team of 3 people.

To be considered for this role, CassonX are looking to identify someone with strong Python Developer skills (and ideally SQL), particularly for data engineering/analysis and automation (e.g. pandas, APIs, scripting workflows) and working with datasets. This role will see you use your analytical skills, and it is preferential you have gained about 3 years’ professional experience in software development, data engineering, operations technology, risk technology or a closely related role, Proficiency in database manipulation and querying, ideally including MySQL and (ideally) AWS hosted databases is also useful. Degree education is not essential but preferred, and they need someone who will be willing to get their hands dirty, and willing to learn quickly.

The role involves working closely with traders and senior management and would suit a highly driven candidate who would like to work with the Front Office and Back Office teams developing their Energy Trading and Risk Management system. You will design and implement automation to reduce manual processing, improve control effectiveness and support the scalability of the firm’s operating model, and update and maintain trade-analysis tools, including the firm’s in-house trade and price-curves database, using MySQL and Python scripting for data manipulation and control checks.
