Our client is a global media organisation with a well-established international presence and a reputation for innovation and operational excellence. Due to a period of transformation and continual improvement within the payroll function, they are seeking an experienced UK Payroll Specialist to join the team on a six-month fixed-term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys balancing operational delivery with process improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will take ownership of the end-to-end UK payroll process for approximately 600 employees while partnering closely with the Global Payroll Transformation Lead on a range of enhancement projects.
The role will also play a key part in documenting existing processes and supporting future-state payroll planning.
The position is based in London with hybrid working arrangements, requiring three days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and process the end-to-end in-house UK payroll for approximately 600 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Act as a key point of contact for payroll-related queries, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Partner with the Global Payroll Transformation Lead to support payroll improvement and transformation initiatives.
- Develop, document and maintain payroll process maps, procedures and operational documentation.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance and other internal stakeholders to ensure payroll data is accurate and delivered within agreed timelines.
- A minimum of three years’ UK payroll experience gained within an in-house payroll environment.
- Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, payroll processing and associated compliance requirements.
- Previous experience using Workday as a HRIS is essential.
- Experience with Cintra payroll software would be advantageous.
- Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work confidently with payroll data and reporting.
- Experience supporting payroll process improvement, transformation or change initiatives would be beneficial.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with a collaborative approach.
- Candidates must be immediately available or available to start at short notice.
