Location: London
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 (5% bonus)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Communications Manager to join a specialist team delivering a major works programme for a housing association based in Central London.
You will play a key role in developing and delivering communication strategies that support residents, stakeholders, project teams, and external partners. This is a unique opportunity to work on projects that directly improve residents' safety and wellbeing whilst helping to build trust and transparency throughout complex remediation programmes.
You will be responsible for creating engaging communications, managing stakeholder relationships, supporting media activity, and translating complex technical information into clear and accessible content for a variety of audiences.
Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, as well as external bodies including MHCLG and Homes England, you will help ensure communications are effective, timely, and resident-focused.
Communications Manager - Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver communication strategies supporting the Major Works programmes
- Produce clear, engaging, resident-focused communications for project delivery
- Provide communications advice and guidance to internal stakeholders
- Support media and public relations activities
- Create content for internal and external communications channels
- Identify and promote positive stories that showcase project successes
- Support website development by maintaining and updating programme information
- Design and manage stakeholder surveys and feedback initiatives
- Build and maintain effective relationships with residents, partners, contractors, and external stakeholders
- Support the planning and delivery of resident engagement events and stakeholder meetings
- Identify speaking opportunities and develop presentations for senior leaders
- Contribute to the wider communications and PR function across the organisation
About You
We are looking for a confident and creative communications professional who can thrive in a fast-paced and complex environment.
You will have:
- A degree or relevant professional qualification in Communications, PR, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience developing and delivering communication and engagement strategies
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Experience working with media, public relations, and social media platforms
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to explain technical or complex information in a clear and accessible way
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and the confidence to work independently
Desirable Experience
- Understanding of Major Works programmes within housing
- Experience working in the housing, construction, property, or public sector
- Knowledge of fire safety standards and building regulations
- Experience engaging with residents and community stakeholders
