Our client based in London’s vibrant West End, are looking to recruit an experience Payroll Administrator to work in a Team processing client payrolls.
THE ROLE:
This is a great opportunity for a motivatedPayroll Administrator to deepen theirtechnical skills, work with a varied client portfolio and play an important part in a busy, collaborative department. You’ll work closely with our Payroll Managers and wider team, gaining hands-on experience across payroll processing, compliance and client communication, while being supported to grow your confidence and professional capability.
You’ll be involved in the full payroll cycle, preparing reports, processing BACS payments, maintaining workflow status, resolving PAYE and payroll queries, and ensuring client instructions are actioned accurately and on time. You’ll also support with setting up PAYE schemes,maintaining payroll databases, keepingdocumentation organised, and helping to refine internal processes to improve efficiency. As part of the role, you’ll ensure pension auto-enrolment compliance and manage contribution uploads across multiple provider platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process payroll reports for assigned portfolioand ensure reportsare distributed on a timelyand efficient mannerto internal or external clients
- Process net salary and PAYE/NIC BACS payments, prepareelectronic BACS pack for Partner’s signatures and
- ensure payments are made on a timely manner
- Update and maintain clientworkflow status throughpayroll software
- Deal with HMRC PAYE queries
- Deal with payroll queriesraised by both internal and external clients
- Liaise with Line Managerin assisting settingup of PAYE schemes for clients
- Set up of new PAYE scheme payroll databaseand update controlsheets
- Ensure filing of emailsand payroll instructions are up to date
- Assist Payroll Managers in improvingpolicies and procedures, to improve efficiency in the day to day running of the department
- Maintain pension auto enrolmentcompliance and submit contribution uploadsto various providerplatforms.
- Assist the Payroll Managerswith ad hoc tasks as required
SKILLS
- Highly numerate with an aptitude for numbers
- Confident, professional, and articulate in dealings both internally with partners and staff and directly with clients
- A natural team playerwith the abilityto work in a team environment as well as being a self-starter with the abilityto work on own initiative
- Ability to cope in a fast paced environment, manage high volumeworkloads and deliverwork to agreedtimescales
- Flexible with the need to meet tight deadlines
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 years proven experience within a similarrole, preferably withinpractice
- Working knowledge of auto-enrolment legislations (essential)
- Ability to calculate PAYE and NIC manually (essential)
- Experience using Paycircle (desirable)
- Previous experience with end of year updates submission via HMRC basic tools (desirable)
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably a finance,accounting and/or businessrelated degree (desirable)
- Working towards CIPP qualification or relevant experience (desirable)
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably a finance,accounting and/or businessrelated degree (desirable)
- Excellent Excel skills
