Infrastructure Manager

Reports to:Head of Technology

Location:London, W2 6HY, UK

Role:Full time (37.5 hours per week). Minimum three days per week in the office.

Record seeks an experienced and technically capable Infrastructure Manager to lead and personally contribute to the delivery, operation, security, and continuous improvement of the firm's global infrastructure services.

Reporting to the Head of Technology, this role is responsible for ensuring that infrastructure platforms remain secure, resilient, scalable, and fit for purpose, supporting the business's operational, regulatory, and strategic requirements. This is very much a hands-on technical role. The successful candidate will build, configure, and troubleshoot infrastructure alongside a team of three, not solely direct it. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on delivery across infrastructure operations, cloud services, end-user computers, networking, workplace technology, operational resilience, and infrastructure project delivery.

The Head of Technology retains ownership of technology strategy, architecture, cyber strategy, technology risk, operational resilience governance, technology budgets, and Board-level technology reporting. The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for executing and delivering against those objectives at a technical, hands-on level.

Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Operations

  1. Lead and personally contribute to the day-to-day operation of the firm’s global infrastructure environment.
  2. Ensure infrastructure services meet agreed availability, performance, resilience, and security requirements.
  3. Deliver and support cloud, network, server, storage, end-user computing, and workplace technology platforms hands-on, alongside the team.
  4. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the firm’s network and secure connectivity estate, including routing, switching, subnetting, firewalls, VPNs, and zScaler secure internet and private access.
  5. Lead and personally work on major infrastructure incidents and service disruptions through to resolution.
  6. Track and report on operational KPIs, SLAs, service performance, and capacity metrics.
  7. Maintain infrastructure lifecycle management plans covering hardware, software, cloud services, and supporting technologies.

Technical Leadership

  1. Lead and develop the infrastructure team, mentoring and setting standards while remaining hands-on yourself.
  2. Provide technical leadership and mentoring across infrastructure disciplines, fostering accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
  3. Establish and maintain infrastructure standards, procedures, and operational practices.
  4. Ensure solutions are implemented in accordance with technology standards and architectural principles established by the Head of Technology.

Cloud & Modern Workplace Technology

  1. Hands-on administration, configuration, and optimisation of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and endpoint technologies.
  2. Drive cloud adoption, automation, standardisation, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  3. Ensure modern workplace services support productivity, collaboration, and security.
  4. Identify opportunities to leverage automation and AI-assisted operational tooling to improve service delivery and efficiency.

Infrastructure Security & Compliance

  1. Implement and maintain infrastructure security controls in line with internal policies, regulatory obligations, and risk requirements.
  2. Support and run vulnerability management, patching, endpoint protection, privileged access controls, and infrastructure monitoring.
  3. Support security assessments, penetration testing, audit activities, and regulatory reviews.
  4. Ensure infrastructure services meet applicable finance services control and compliance expectations.

Operational Resilience & Disaster Recovery

  1. Maintain infrastructure disaster recovery capabilities and technical recovery procedures.
  2. Lead infrastructure resilience testing and recovery exercises.
  3. Ensure backup, monitoring, recovery, and failover capabilities remain effective and regularly tested.
  4. Support wider business continuity and operational resilience activities.

Project & Change Delivery

  1. Lead the infrastructure workstreams associated with strategic technology programmes and projects, including hands-on implementation, no just coordination.
  2. Deliver infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, office technology deployments, security enhancements, and platform modernisation initiatives.
  3. Manage risks, dependencies, and timelines for infrastructure related initiatives.
  4. Ensure infrastructure projects are delivered to agreed scope, quality, and timeframes.

Vendor & Supplier Management

  1. Manage day-to-day operational relationships with infrastructure vendors, managed service providers, and technology partners.
  2. Monitor supplier performance against service level agreements and contractual commitments.
  3. Support vendor due diligence, supplier reviews, and procurement activities.
  4. Act as a technical escalation point for infrastructure suppliers and outsourced service providers.

Stakeholder Engagement

  1. Work closely with Technology, Trading, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and other business teams.
  2. Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  3. Provide regular updates on infrastructure performance, risks, projects, and service improvements.
  4. Build trusted relationships across the organisation and promote a service-oriented culture.
