Reporting and Analytics Practise Manager/Lead

Location: London (Hybrid)



Overview

A leading international financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Reporting Delivery Practice Lead to drive the delivery of strategic reporting and analytics solutions across a complex, highly regulated environment.

This is a leadership role for an individual who combines strong stakeholder management and delivery expertise with hands-on knowledge of modern reporting and data visualisation platforms. The successful candidate will lead a team of BI developers and delivery professionals whilst helping shape the future reporting strategy across the organisation.

The position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale reporting initiatives that support front-office, risk, compliance, finance and operations functions, delivering critical insights that enable data-driven decision making.

Ideal Candidate Profile

This role would suit a Reporting Manager, BI Delivery Lead, Analytics Lead, Data Visualisation Lead, MIS Lead or Reporting Practice Lead with strong experience in financial services who enjoys combining hands-on technical expertise with team leadership and strategic delivery responsibility.



Key Responsibilities

Reporting & Analytics Leadership

  • Lead the delivery of enterprise-wide reporting and analytics solutions across multiple business functions.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, robust reporting and visualisation solutions.
  • Define and implement reporting standards, frameworks and best practices.
  • Act as a technical authority for reporting and analytics technologies, providing guidance on architecture, design and delivery.
  • Drive the development of production-grade dashboards, KPIs, management information and operational reporting.


Delivery & Transformation

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of complex reporting initiatives, ensuring solutions are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Support strategic transformation programmes by delivering innovative reporting capabilities aligned with wider data strategies.
  • Collaborate with technology, data, and business stakeholders to prioritise and execute reporting projects.
  • Establish sustainable support and maintenance models for reporting platforms.
  • Identify delivery risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.


Data & Technology

  • Ensure reporting solutions are integrated with modern cloud-based data platforms and enterprise data warehouses.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across reporting architecture, performance and scalability.
  • Support optimisation of data processing workflows and reporting performance.
  • Promote best practice around security, governance, testing, deployment and change management.


Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of BI developers and reporting specialists.
  • Set objectives, manage performance and support professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative and continuous improvement culture.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels across both technology and business teams.


Required Experience

  • Extensive experience leading reporting, analytics or business intelligence functions within Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Corporate Banking or Financial Services.
  • Proven track record delivering complex operational, management and regulatory reporting solutions in large-scale environments.
  • Strong expertise across BI and visualisation tools such as:
    • Power BI
    • Tableau
    • Qlik
    • Databricks AI/BI
  • Advanced SQL and data modelling skills.
  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and modern data architectures (Azure, GCP or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of financial products and tradelifecycle concepts, including areas such as:
    • Fixed Income
    • Derivatives
    • Loans
    • Capital Markets products
  • Experience leading technical delivery teams and managing senior stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting platform governance, security and DevSecOps practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.


Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting frameworks including:
    • BCBS 239
    • Basel III
    • MiFID II
    • FRTB
  • Experience with data governance, data lineage, metadata management and data quality tools.
  • Agile, PMP or relevant BI platform certifications.
  • Experience working within global, matrix-led organisations.
  • Degree qualified in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology or a related discipline.
