NET Recruit
Your Company:
NET Recruit is proud to be partnering with a highly successful and growing engineering organisation in their search for a Data Centre Sales Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking business specialising in HVAC, Process Cooling, and temperature control solutions, with a particular focus on supporting customers operating within the rapidly expanding Data Centre sector.
With a strong reputation for technical expertise, customer service, and innovative engineering solutions, the business is continuing to grow its customer base and is looking for a commercially driven Sales Engineer who can combine technical understanding with strong relationship-building and business development skills.

Your Role and Responsibilities
While in this position, your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Identifying and targeting new customers requiring HVAC, Process Cooling, and temperature control solutions.
  • Developing and implementing effective sales strategies to generate new leads and convert opportunities into sales.
  • Building and maintaining a strong sales pipeline, ensuring all opportunities and customer information are accurately recorded within the CRM system.
  • Conducting market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activity, and new business opportunities, particularly within the Data Centre sector.
  • Developing strong relationships with both new and existing customers and acting as a trusted technical point of contact.
  • Understanding customer requirements and recommending appropriate equipment and technical solutions based on their specific needs.
  • Providing technical guidance on process chillers, temperature control units, associated equipment, and installation requirements.
  • Conducting customer site visits and assessments to understand technical requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Working closely with engineering and project management teams to develop and deliver customised solutions.
  • Preparing and presenting proposals, quotations, and technical solutions to customers.
  • Following up with customers throughout the sales process and providing appropriate after-sales support.
  • Supporting customers with technical queries, troubleshooting, maintenance advice, and coordination with internal technical teams.
  • Preparing regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and performance updates for management.
  • Analysing customer feedback, market developments, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for further growth.
  • Working collaboratively with marketing teams to support promotional activity and generate new commercial opportunities.
  • Working towards agreed sales and performance targets while contributing to the wider growth strategy of the business.
What You Will Need to Apply:
To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have previous experience in a Sales Engineer, Technical Sales, Business Development, Account Management, or similar customer-facing commercial role, preferably gained within the HVAC, refrigeration, process cooling, engineering, or a related technical industry.
An engineering qualification or relevant practical engineering experience would be advantageous, together with the ability to understand technical products and translate customer requirements into appropriate solutions. Experience with process chillers, temperature control systems, HVAC equipment, refrigeration, or similar technologies would be particularly beneficial.
You will need to demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage with customers at different levels and develop long-term commercial partnerships. You should be comfortable conducting customer meetings and site visits and explaining technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A proven track record of generating new business, developing sales pipelines, and achieving or exceeding sales targets is essential. You will be commercially driven and proactive, with strong negotiation and problem-solving skills and the ability to identify opportunities and take them through to completion.
You should also be confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities effectively.
A valid UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK are essential for the role, as regular customer travel will be required.

What You Will Get in Return:
In return for your skills and experience, you will receive a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including a company car or car allowance, pension, healthcare, life insurance, bonus scheme, and access to wellbeing initiatives. You will join a fast-paced and forward-thinking organisation where no two days will be the same. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with customers, engineers, and project teams while developing your technical and commercial expertise within a growing and increasingly important area of the engineering sector.
The company provides a structured induction programme alongside continued training and development, ensuring you have the support and resources required to succeed in the role.

If you are an ambitious Sales Engineer looking for a role that combines technical expertise, business development, customer relationships, and strong earning potential, this could be an excellent opportunity for your next career move.
