£300 - £400/day
2-3 days in the office

• Lead on budget setting, forecasting, monitoring and year-end closure activities for a portfolio of services within Adult Social Care and/or Children & Young People's Services.
• Provide high-quality financial advice, challenge and business partnering support to budget holders, service managers and senior stakeholders.
• Support the financial planning and management of complex, demand-led budgets, ensuring financial risks and opportunities are identified and reported.
• Prepare financial analysis, statutory returns, grant claims and funding submissions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and deadlines.
• Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts and performance information to support strategic decision-making.
• Operate and improve financial systems, processes and controls to ensure accurate financial management and reporting.
• Work closely with operational teams to support service transformation, savings programmes and efficiency initiatives.
• Lead and/or contribute to finance improvement projects, service reviews and organisational transformation programmes.
  
  

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience working within a Local Authority finance function.
• Experience of budget setting, forecasting, financial monitoring and year-end accounts processes.
• Strong business partnering skills
• Experience supporting Adult Social Care and/or Children's Services is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of local government finance regulations, grant funding and statutory reporting requirements.
• CCAB qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience will be considered.
