Contract Test Analyst

We’re looking for an experienced Contract Test Analyst / Test Engineer to join our team and play a key role in delivering high-quality, reliable software across a range of applications and services.

This role would suit a hands-on tester with strong API testing and SQL/database experience, who is comfortable working in an Agile environment and collaborating closely with developers, analysts and other QA professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive test scenarios and test cases across web, backend and integration services.
• Perform extensive API testing, validating requests, responses, data, authentication and error handling.
• Use tools such as Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI or similar to test RESTful APIs.
• Write and execute SQL queries to validate data, investigate defects and verify end-to-end data flows.
• Perform functional, integration, regression and exploratory testing.
• Identify, document and track defects through to resolution.
• Work closely with developers and product teams to investigate issues and ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Contribute to test planning, estimation and continuous improvement of QA processes.
• Support automated testing where appropriate and help identify opportunities to improve test coverage.

Essential Experience

• Strong commercial experience in software testing / QA.
• Excellent hands-on experience with API testing, particularly REST APIs.
• Strong SQL skills and experience testing databases and data integrations.
• Experience using Postman, Swagger or similar API testing tools.
• Good understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, JSON and XML.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
