Octavius Finance is partnering with a highly regarded alternative investment manager to identify an Investment Analyst to join an established and successful CLO investment platform in London.

The platform manages a significant portfolio of broadly syndicated leveraged loans, with a fundamental, research-driven investment approach. The team combines detailed credit analysis, financial modelling and valuation with active portfolio monitoring and portfolio construction to identify attractive opportunities and manage risk across the CLO portfolios.

This is an excellent opportunity for a high-quality credit research analyst with 2–5 years of experience to join a sophisticated CLO investment platform, working closely with experienced Portfolio Managers and gaining significant exposure to the full investment lifecycle. The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a portfolio of credits and contribute meaningfully to investment decisions within a lean and collaborative team.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  1. Conduct fundamental credit research across a portfolio of broadly syndicated leveraged loans.
  2. Take ownership of a portfolio of credits across a broad range of sectors.
  3. Prepare detailed investment memoranda and present investment recommendations to the investment team.
  4. Build and maintain detailed cash-flow models, including valuation, leverage, downside and sensitivity analysis.
  5. Assess new loan opportunities and make recommendations on asset selection for CLO portfolios.
  6. Monitor existing credits through quarterly and ad hoc reviews, including repricings, add-ons, amendments and changes in credit quality.
  7. Analyse recovery scenarios and downside risks to assess the resilience of underlying investments.
  8. Contribute to portfolio construction and ongoing portfolio management.
  9. Work closely with Portfolio Managers, Trading, Structuring and Operations teams throughout the investment and settlement process.

Requirements

Our client is seeking an ambitious and analytically rigorous credit research analyst with strong fundamental investment skills and relevant experience within leveraged finance or CLOs.

Candidates should have:

  1. 2–5 years of relevant experience within credit research, leveraged finance, CLOs or a closely related investment discipline.
  2. Candidates must have some buy-side credit investment experience, ideally within a CLO or leveraged loan platform.
  3. Strong fundamental credit analysis skills, with the ability to assess both business quality and downside risk.
  4. Experience analysing broadly syndicated leveraged loans and/or high-yield issuers.
  5. Strong financial modelling, cash-flow analysis and valuation capabilities.
  6. Experience preparing investment memoranda and presenting investment recommendations to senior investment professionals.
  7. The ability to manage a portfolio of credits and develop independent investment views.
  8. Excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  9. A collaborative and entrepreneurial approach, with the ability to operate effectively within a lean investment team.

Candidates with direct CLO or leveraged loan experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
