An exciting opportunity to join the Quality Control team of a prestigious high jewellery house, working at the heart of Product Operations to ensure that every piece meets the exceptional standards of quality and craftsmanship expected of the Maison.
The Quality Control Specialist will play a key role in the daily assessment and control of jewellery pieces across different stages of their journey, from workshop deliveries and new production to repairs and customer returns.
Combining strong jewellery knowledge, technical expertise and an exceptional eye for detail, the successful candidate will be responsible not only for identifying quality issues, but also for understanding their root causes and working collaboratively with internal teams and workshops to drive continuous improvement.
The role also has an important analytical dimension. By monitoring quality data, identifying recurring trends and providing clear and actionable feedback, the Quality Control Specialist will contribute to improving product quality, processes and ways of working as the business continues to grow.
This is a hands-on and fast-paced role, ideally suited to someone who is passionate about jewellery and craftsmanship, enjoys solving problems and takes pride in maintaining the highest possible standards.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control
- Manage day-to-day quality control activities across workshop deliveries, new production, customer returns and repairs.
- Inspect jewellery pieces against the company’s quality standards and technical requirements, ensuring consistency and attention to the finest details.
- Identify quality issues and determine the appropriate course of action in collaboration with the relevant teams.
- Ensure quality concerns are clearly documented, communicated and followed through to resolution.
- Provide clear and constructive technical feedback to internal teams and external workshops.
- Support the assessment of complex or recurring quality issues, helping to identify root causes and appropriate corrective actions.
Quality Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Analyse quality data to identify recurring issues, trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain accurate quality reports and logs to provide clear visibility of key quality metrics.
- Translate quality findings and data into practical, actionable recommendations.
- Monitor recurring defects and contribute to root-cause analysis and corrective action plans.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve product quality, processes and ways of working.
- Use historical quality information to support decision-making and help prevent recurring issues.
- Share relevant insights and learnings with teams to encourage continuous improvement across the product journey.
Processes & Standards
- Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of quality control procedures and standards.
- Help ensure quality expectations and requirements are clearly understood and consistently applied.
- Contribute to creating a structured and rigorous approach to quality control as the business continues to grow.
- Support the development of tools, guidelines and reporting that improve the efficiency and consistency of the Quality Control function.
Collaboration
- Build strong relationships and work closely with different teams to resolve quality issues effectively.
- Communicate quality concerns clearly and constructively, balancing technical requirements with operational priorities.
- Act as a trusted point of contact on product quality, sharing expertise and supporting teams in achieving the required standards.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience within the fine or high jewellery industry, ideally in Quality Control, in a jewellery workshop, in Product Development or Production.
- Strong jewellery product knowledge and a good understanding of jewellery manufacturing techniques, materials and craftsmanship.
- An exceptional eye for detail and a genuine passion for achieving the highest standards of quality.
- Analytical and comfortable interpreting quality data, identifying trends and translating findings into actionable recommendations.
- Naturally curious and solution-oriented, with the ability to investigate issues and understand their root causes.
- Highly organised and structured, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Works efficiently and accurately under pressure without compromising attention to detail or quality.
- Proactive, driven and self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Team player and confident communicator who can build effective relationships.
- Comfortable challenging existing ways of working and contributing ideas for continuous improvement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SAP would be advantageous.
- A GIA diamond and/or gemstone qualification, or equivalent recognised gemmological qualification, would be an advantage.
- Above all, genuine appreciation for exceptional jewellery, craftsmanship and the uncompromising standards associated with high jewellery.
