About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Fire Safety Project Manager to lead and deliver a programme of fire safety improvement works across a diverse residential property portfolio.
Reporting to the Head of Asset Investment and Programmes, you will play a key role in ensuring fire safety compliance, managing major remediation projects, and providing technical expertise on building and fire safety matters. The role combines project management, contractor oversight, technical inspections, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the highest standards of resident safety.
This is an excellent opportunity for a fire safety professional with experience in social housing, residential property, or building compliance who is looking to make a meaningful impact.



Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and oversee fire safety major works and remediation programmes.
  • Manage external consultants, Employer's Agents, contractors, and specialist suppliers.
  • Carry out fire safety surveys, inspections, and quality assurance checks across residential properties.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on fire safety and building compliance matters.
  • Support the management of Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs) and building safety obligations.
  • Ensure recommendations arising from Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) and other compliance reports are effectively implemented.
  • Monitor contractor performance, costs, programme delivery, and quality standards.
  • Manage project budgets, valuations, variations, and financial reporting.
  • Maintain accurate compliance and asset management records.
  • Stay up to date with fire safety legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice.
  • Work collaboratively with property management teams to manage and reduce building safety risks.
  • Occasionally attend sites outside normal working hours in emergency situations.


About You



Essential Experience & Knowledge

  • Recognised professional qualification in fire safety, building safety, construction, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum three years' experience managing complex fire safety projects and programmes.
  • Strong experience managing contractors, consultants, and project delivery teams.
  • Thorough understanding of fire safety requirements within residential buildings.
  • Knowledge of key legislation including:
    • Building Safety Act 2022
    • Fire Safety Act 2021
    • Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
    • Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)
    • Decent Homes Standard
    • Social housing compliance frameworks
  • Experience delivering quality assurance inspections and compliance-related programmes.
  • Strong budget management and project planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.


Desirable

  • IFE, NEBOSH, IOSH, or other recognised Health & Safety qualification.
  • Experience within social, affordable, supported, or residential housing sectors.
  • Experience working directly with residents and customers.
  • Knowledge of cyclical maintenance and major works programmes.
