An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance & HR Systems Administrator to join a leading higher education institution on an interim basis. This role will be responsible for the administration, maintenance and continuous improvement of the organisation's Finance and People & Culture systems, ensuring systems are secure, efficient and aligned with business needs. The successful candidate will act as the key liaison between users, suppliers and stakeholders, providing expert systems support, managing upgrades and enhancements, and driving improvements across core business systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary administrator for Unit4 ERPx and People First systems
  • Manage user accounts, permissions and security access across Finance and People & Culture systems
  • Provide first-line and second-line application support to system users
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve system issues in a timely manner
  • Coordinate system upgrades, patches and enhancements with external suppliers
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and support system implementation projects
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, user guides and process maps
  • Deliver training and support to users across the organisation
  • Gather and assess business requirements and recommend system improvements
  • Work closely with stakeholders to optimise system functionality and processes
  • Produce system reports and support data analysis requirements
  • Maintain system integrity, data quality and compliance with governance requirements
  • Support integrations between Finance, HR and other business systems
  • Manage relationships with system suppliers including Unit4, MHR and other third-party providers
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Contribute to wider transformation and change programmes across the organisation
  • Ensure all activities are delivered in line with organisational policies and procedures
  • Provide expert advice on systems best practice and future development opportunities

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Previous experience working in a Systems Administrator, Finance Systems Analyst, Application Support Analyst or similar role
  • Strong experience administering Unit4 ERPx, Agresso or similar ERP systems
  • Experience supporting HR systems such as People First, MHR or equivalent platforms
  • Knowledge of Finance and HR system processes and workflows
  • Experience managing system upgrades, testing and implementation activities
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing system security, user access and permissions
  • Ability to produce reports and analyse system data
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience liaising with third-party suppliers and external partners
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple departments
  • Experience within Higher Education, Public Sector or Not-for-Profit organisations would be advantageous
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and systems development

Salary Equivalent: £200-£230 paid via an Umbrella
