A leading London law firm is seeking a Senior Business Development Executive to provide maternity cover across its Institutions market.
Working closely with the Business Development Manager, the successful candidate will support business development activity across the not-for-profit, schools, higher education and sovereign sectors. This is a varied, hands-on role spanning sector planning, pitches, campaigns, events, client targeting and profile-raising initiatives.
Key responsibilities- Support the development and delivery of sector business development plans and budgets.
- Conduct market, competitor, client and prospect research and analyse financial performance.
- Lead and project-manage pitches, tenders and capability statements from research and go/no-go decisions through to submission and debrief.
- Manage directory and award submissions, including Chambers and Legal 500.
- Plan and deliver in-person and virtual events, webinars and follow-up activity, including ROI analysis.
- Develop thought leadership and marketing campaigns with lawyers and communications colleagues.
- Identify cross-selling and profile-raising opportunities, including external speaking and sponsorship activity.
- Build strong relationships with partners, senior stakeholders and colleagues across the firm.
The ideal candidate will have strong business development and marketing experience within professional services, ideally legal. They will be highly organised, commercially minded and confident managing multiple projects and senior stakeholders.
Experience of pitches, campaigns, events and directory submissions is essential, alongside excellent written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate will be proactive, collaborative and comfortable taking ownership from day one.
This role would suit an ambitious Business Development Executive ready to step up, or an established Senior BD Executive seeking a broad and varied fixed-term opportunity within a high-performing team.
Degree educated or equivalent experience required; CIM qualification desirable.
