Process Technologist - #2128273
Zest
Date: 2 weeks ago
City: London
Contract type: Full time
Work schedule: Full day
Zest is recruiting a Process Technologist to join a fast-paced, innovation-led food manufacturing business, acting as the vital link between the product development team and the production line. You'll take new products from concept through to launch, making sure every scale-up hits the technical and quality mark, while constantly looking for smarter, more efficient ways to run the factory floor.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Process Manager, you'll plan and run factory trials, troubleshoot process challenges, and help scout and launch new manufacturing technologies that keep the business ahead of the curve. It's a hands-on, technical role for someone who's as comfortable on the production line as they are writing up a trial report.
What you'll be doing
- Planning, organising and running factory trials as part of NPD and EPD programmes, with full documentation and trial reporting
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and equipment suppliers, on process development matters
- Providing the technical detail needed to complete product specifications
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives across the product and process portfolio, working closely with Technical, Operations and Engineering
- Helping build business cases for investment in new equipment
- Working with Production and Engineering to design and deliver commissioning plans for new kit
- Applying quality, HACCP and food safety standards throughout NPD
- Sampling products and gathering technical data from trials
- Scouting new manufacturing technologies in line with the innovation strategy
What you'll bring
- A degree in Food Science with experience in FMCG food manufacturing
- A proactive relationship-builder who can influence without needing full authority
- A genuine passion for food, manufacturing and new technology
- A methodical, organised approach and the ability to juggle multiple products and projects at once
- Sharp attention to detail and a logical, analytical mind
How to Apply
If you love the technical challenge of turning a great product idea into something that runs reliably at scale, this could be the role for you.
