Assistant Quantity Surveyor - #2128498

OCS are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a leading specialist contractor on a major Cut & Carve project in Central London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant QS looking to develop their commercial career on a technically challenging project involving demolition, RC structures, structural steel and a mixed-use residential and commercial development.

The Role

Working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor and wider commercial team, you will gain exposure to the full commercial lifecycle of the project, including:

• Supporting the commercial management of packages and subcontractors
• Preparing and reviewing subcontractor payments
• Assisting with variations and change control
• Cost reporting and forecasting
• Measurement and valuations
• Procurement and subcontract administration
• Supporting the preparation of commercial reports
• Assisting with final accounts
• Working closely with the operational team to ensure commercial performance is maintained

About You

OCS are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 1 year's post-graduate experience who is keen to progress their career within the specialist construction sector.

Ideally, you will have:

• A Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management degree
• Minimum 1 year's post-graduate experience
• Experience within construction, civil engineering, demolition, RC Frame or structural works
• Good understanding of commercial and contractual principles
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A genuine ambition to develop into a fully-fledged Quantity Surveyor

Experience of Cut & Carve, demolition, RC Frame or structural steel projects would be highly advantageous.
