The Opportunity

A market-leading Tier 1 fit out contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Design Manager to join its growing London team.

The Role

As Senior Design Manager, you will play a key role in managing the design process from pre-construction through to delivery, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.

You will be responsible for ensuring design information is coordinated, technically robust and delivered in line with programme, quality and commercial requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the design process from pre-construction through to completion.
• Coordinate consultants, subcontractors, specialist suppliers and internal project teams.
• Manage design development and ensure information is delivered in line with programme requirements.
• Identify and resolve design and technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work closely with commercial and construction teams to ensure designs are coordinated and buildable.
• Develop strong relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Provide leadership and support to other members of the design team.
• Maintain high standards of design quality, compliance and technical delivery.

About You

• Proven experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Manager within a Tier 1/main contractor or leading fit out contractor.
• Strong experience delivering complex commercial fit out or refurbishment projects.
• Excellent technical and design management knowledge.
• Experience managing consultants, subcontractors and wider design teams.
• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Commercially aware with a strong understanding of programme, quality and buildability.
• Ambitious, driven and keen to progress within a market-leading business.
