Are you looking for an opportunity to build on your management accounting or finance business partnering experience in a fast-paced environment? Have you supported a finance team through a systems implementation or worked extensively with Business Central? Are you adaptable, hands-on and comfortable joining an organisation going through a period of change?
An organisation based in London is seeking a Management Accountant on an initial 3-month contract to support their finance team during a busy period of change. This is a varied role offering strong exposure to management accounting, financial reporting, business partnering and systems work. This role is inside IR35, paid through an Umbrella company.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the production of monthly management accounts and investigating variances against budget
- Working closely with budget holders, providing financial support and helping them understand their financial position
- Supporting the finance team through ongoing systems and process changes
- Preparing and posting journals, including income releases and accruals
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting and liaising with stakeholders across the organisation
- Reviewing financial transactions to ensure accurate coding and budget alignment
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
- Reconciling data imports from external systems and resolving variances
- Reviewing open purchase orders to support accurate commitment reporting
- Supporting system administration, including user access and supplier setup
- Providing flexible, hands-on support across the wider finance team as priorities evolve
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong management accounting and/or finance business partnering experience
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or experience working through a finance system implementation
- Experience supporting month-end processes, including journals, accruals and reconciliations
- Confidence working with and supporting budget holders and non-finance stakeholders
- Strong Excel and accounting systems skills
- The ability to be flexible and comfortable joining a finance team going through a period of change
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to work
- Good communication skills and the ability to quickly build effective working relationships
- A proactive, hands-on attitude and willingness to support wherever required
- Studying towards or interested in a professional accounting qualification would be advantageous
