Health and Safety Lead - #2130350

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a leading rail infrastructure business, based in the South east of England and supporting the effective management of health, safety and environmental standards across rail projects and operational activities.

This is a senior role working closely with operational teams, project leadership and clients to promote a strong, proactive safety culture and ensure compliance across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing professional H&S advice, support and guidance to operational and project teams.

• Supporting the implementation and continual improvement of the Integrated Management System.

• Ensuring projects comply with relevant legislation, standards, procedures and safety requirements.

• Acting as a key H&S interface with clients.

• Leading and supporting accident, incident and close-call investigations.

• Ensuring corrective and preventative actions are effectively implemented and closed out.

• Supporting audits, inspections and compliance activities.

• Contributing to tender and work-winning activities.

• Supporting RM3 assessments and resulting improvement plans.

• Developing and supporting members of the wider team.

• Promoting a positive and proactive health and safety culture.

About you:

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.

• Strong experience within rail or construction.

• Good understanding of H&S legislation, management systems and industry standards.

• Experience managing investigations, audits and corrective actions.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Comfortable providing advice and challenge at all levels.

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.

• PTS 

• IOSH membership and/or Chartered status desirable.
