Landed Estates & Agriculture Solicitor — Position Overview:
You will join a specialist Landed Estates & Agriculture team handling a diverse mix of transactional, advisory and estate management work. Working closely with the firm's Private Client and Tax teams, you will advise owners of significant rural estates, landed businesses and agricultural holdings, while playing an active role in developing the department and building client relationships.
Key Responsibilities of the Landed Estates & Agriculture Solicitor:
• Advising on the sale and purchase of farms, estates and country houses
• Handling agricultural property transactions and estate management matters
• Advising on agricultural tenancies, unregistered land and manorial rights
• Assisting with succession planning and rural property reorganisation matters
• Advising on renewable energy, mineral leases, natural capital and carbon trading projects
• Working closely with the firm's Private Client and Tax teams on complex matters
• Supervising and supporting junior members of the team
• Contributing to business development through networking, articles and client events
Requirements of the Landed Estates & Agriculture Solicitor:
• Qualified Solicitor with experience in Rural Property or Agricultural Law
• Strong technical knowledge of landed estates and rural property matters
• Experience managing transactions with a high degree of autonomy
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
• Strong academic background
• Interest in country estates, environmental policy and rural land management
• Ability to supervise junior team members
• Enthusiasm for business development and growing client relationships
