Harmonic Operations are delighted to be working exclusively with a fast-growing, privately owned multi-site business on the hire of a Director of Operations.
The business operates a growing estate of premium, purpose-built sites across London, sitting at the intersection of a private members' club, professional studio and flexible workspace.
Already profitable at site level and backed by institutional investors and experienced multi-site operators, the business is entering an exciting period of expansion, with a new site opening next year and an ambitious rollout plan behind it.
The RoleReporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Operations will build the operational infrastructure required to support significant growth.
Leading General Managers, an Area Manager and Operations Manager, you'll own the people, processes, systems and standards across the estate.
This is a strategic and commercial operations role rather than a firefighting one. The focus is on creating a scalable operating model that allows the business to increase its site count without compromising the member experience.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, develop and hire high-performing multi-site operational teams
- Build scalable operational processes, standards and systems across the estate
- Own and improve the end-to-end digital member journey, from sign-up and invoicing through to onboarding and member communications
- Introduce systems for site scoring, mystery shopping, checklists, inventory and operational reporting
- Drive site-level economics, reviewing supplier contracts, operating costs and organisational structure
- Partner with the CEO on new site openings, layouts and operational investment decisions
- Introduce an AI-first approach, identifying opportunities to automate processes and improve operational efficiency
- Work closely with Finance to build accurate operational dashboards and decision-ready data
- Own health & safety, fire and compliance requirements across all locations
- 5+ years' multi-site operations experience within a bricks-and-mortar environment such as members' clubs, flexible workspace, gyms, hospitality, nurseries, care homes or similar
- Proven experience leading, hiring and developing multi-site teams
- Experience supporting or leading a significant multi-site rollout
- Strong commercial understanding of P&L drivers, KPIs and site-level unit economics
- Experience designing and implementing operational processes and systems across multiple locations
- Strong technology and automation experience, with a genuinely AI-first mindset
- Working knowledge of health & safety, fire and compliance requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail and comfortable building structure within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment
Experience within operational real estate, hospitality or members' clubs would be particularly relevant.
PackageSalary: £80,000 - £100,000 + equity
Location: London - hybrid, three days per week in the office plus regular site visits
Start: ASAP, notice periods considered
