Our client, a City based insurance company, seek a Claims Manager. You will handle Title claims and manage the claims department in accordance with the claims protocols and the delegated authority outlines.
The successful applicant will have prior Property, Title or Professional Indemnity claims handling experience and will be comfortable working with litigated matters. An understanding of residential conveyancing would be preferred but isn't essential. An in-depth understanding of insurance contracts will also be useful. This will be a hybrid role.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the receipt of new claims ensuring that they are processed in accordance the claims handling guidelines and delegated authority
Ensure that panel solicitors and / or surveyors are instructed in a timely manner
Constantly evaluate the performance of panel law firms for its content and fees to ensure they follow the service levels agreed as set out in claims guidelines and continue to be cost effective
Constantly audit performance of panel law firms to ensure the service levels are met
Authorise and instruct claims and legal expense payments and work with finance to ensure payments are made in a timely manner as per our SLAs
Ensure that the department is consistently operating within the limits of the delegated authority and industry best practice
Monitor the business' performance with respect to claims handling and reporting and make recommendations
Ensure that all monthly claims bordereaux are accurately updated and reported on time to insurers, underwriters and the management team
Prepare an internal monthly claims report for the USA
Identify emerging claims trends and report accordingly to key stakeholders
